Steve Kerrmay have that choir-boy look but he is intense. Remember, he got into a fist fight with Michael Jordanin practice. While at Arizona he angrily threw the ball back at former Oregon coach Don Monsonafter Monson zipped the ball at him with force during a 1988 game at McKale Center. That kind of competitor goes to the Final Four and wins five NBA titles.

NBA ref Joey Crawfordwanted in on the Kerr-coaching phenomenon … right?

This does not come as a surprise with how Sean Elliott, Anthony Cook, Tom Tolbertand Craig McMillanrelied on Kerr to set up their shots.

Solomon Hill’sname in a starting lineup after he hardly played as a rookie last year.

An interesting comparison of Hill and Paul Georgeafter their first five career starts. Both averaged 8.8 points but Hill has the rebounding edge (5.4 to 4.6) and shot slightly better from the field (45.5 to 42.5).

Hill’s career-high scoring production last night is only a start. Bound to get into 20-point range in some games soon.
