Tucson Conquistadores High School Football Rewind: Top Performers From Week Five

Salpointe 62, Tucson 0

SALPOINTE

— RB Bijan Robinson, 8 rushes for 282 yards with four touchdown runs of 47, 60, 50 and 92 yards. Broke Ka’Deem Carey’s city record of 5,701 yards. Robinson now has 5,794 yards rushing in his career, bringing him to only 84 yards shy of the Arizona big-school (Class 4A-6A) record of 5,878 set by former Tolleson standout Marcus Thomasfrom 1999-2002. In only four games this season, Robinson has 993 yards on 39 carries, an average of 25.5 yards a carry. He also has 17 touchdowns.

— FS/WR Lathan Ransomhad a 38-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 22-yard TD reception. He also had four tackles, one for loss.

— RB David Corderohad two carries for 77 yards, including a 70-yard sprint for a TD.

— LB Trent Stronghad a team-high eight tackles.

— DB Charlie Raetzmanhad his third interception of the season and he broke up two passes.

Nogales improved to 4-1 overall and open region play Friday hosting Ironwood Ridge.

— QB Jovoni Borbonhad 108 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown and he also had two interceptions as a safety. Borbon is 237 passing yards shy of 5,000 in his career.

— RB T ory Waltersrushed 11 times for 75 yards and a TD.

— LB Jesse Avinahad a team-high 13 tackles, including one for a loss.

— RB Gabe Levyhad 141 yards rushing on 21 carries with a TD.

— CB Traivian Denetsohad seven tackles including two for loss.

— RB Brandon Barrioshad 19 carries for 168 yards and four TDs.

Sahuaro holds an 19-14-1 record over Sunnyside dating back to 1968 including the last seven in a row.

— QB Deion Condecompleted 12 of 19 passes for 154 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

— RB Martin Arvizuhad 15 carries for 148 yards with two touchdowns.

— WR/S Jordan Lopezhad seven catches for 152 yards and two TDs. He also had two interceptions.

— DL Thomas Welkyhad 10 tackles, 3.5 for loss.

— WR Robby Goodinghad seven catches for 60 yards.

Valley Union is 7-6 against Ft. Thomas dating back to 1984.
