Arizona All-American Aari McDonald named to Wooden Award Midseason Top 25

Arizona senior All-American guard Aari McDonaldis part of the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 for the second year in a row.

The list comprises of 25 student-athletes who are front-runners for the sport’s most prestigious honor as chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts. The voting is based on a player’s performances during the 2020-21 season.

McDonald, who is one of four Pac-12 student-athletes on the watch list, averages 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.8 steals per game. She leads the conference in assists per game and is third in scoring and steals per game.

The NCAA active leader in career points (1,924) has scored in double-figures in 75 straight games, the longest active streak in the nation. The number encompasses her entire career at Arizona from 2018-19.

McDonald is three points away from moving into fourth place in Arizona career scoring.

No. 7 Arizona (8-1, 6-1 Pac-12) will take on Washington State (6-1, 4-1) Sunday at noon at Pullman, Wash.
