I'm probably teaching your old gran how to suck eggs But Did You Know? If in Harry Hill format - the Sporting Life & Racing Post could have a fight. Who would win? Fight!!!!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure this would be pay-per-view. Who would win? To be honest, both are brilliant resources. There isn't a day goes past when I don't use both. However, if you're interested in watching Racing Replays the Sporting Life is a winner by a knockout. Why? Well, the Racing Post makes you stick your hand in your pocket for the luxury of watching racing replays. Not with the Sporting Life. It is FREE!!!! Simply open an SKY BET account - get a free bet - then watch Attheraces (ATR) & Racing UK (RUK) via the Sporting Life website for zilch. That's right - one handy website - your private archive. Forget about Sky+ or hard drive running out of space. Even if you still need every gadget under the sun - it's worth

'Just a quick update about my general thoughts for the season so far. It has been something of a frustrating time as yet although I am happy in my thoughts and confident in finding a decent few winners as the season progresses. With rarely giving juveniles less than 4/1 and more speculative bets it can seem slow at times but with such selections that can be the nature of the beast. There will be decent opportunities around the corner so it really is all about the long term and just a couple of winners will put us well in front for the season. I am hopeful of a turn in fortunes for next month and more opportunities.' Regards,Jason

The End of The Flat Season

The Flat season has come and gone with yesterday's meeting at Doncaster. As always, it has been a time to learn and refine our skills and endeavour to come back in March, for the new Flat season, a new-improved blog brimming with confidence and determined that H.C.E can continue to maintain that winning edge. With the conclusion of this season, it is perhaps too easy to considering what went wrong rather than take all the positives which ultimately led to a decent points profit for the year and one or two big price selections that ran stormers but didn't quite prevail. On balance, we have to be pleased with our first season. There is little doubt H.C.E will be bigger and better next year. We will be giving more tips and this will give a more balanced approach. We did fall into the trap of being too selective at the start of the season which caused problems. With my brother, Tony, taking a greater role along side myself and Gareth next season, we will be highlighting a good number of spec

No racing this Sunday so just a few general thoughts regarding the blog, the season and future goals. I was pleased to have a few quid on Andrew Balding's Gardening Leave yesterday. It is unfortunate I couldn't detail this juvenile as a tip but being a statistical bet it was impossible at the cut-off point at 12:30 and I only made a decision to bet myself with a few minutes to the off. I actually had a bet on Aultcharn, too. Thought a place was a near certainty while watching only to see Meehan's juvenile struggle in the soft ground and plod home 6th. There is such a fine line between winning and losing at times - and this season has proven that point time after time. Our recent second with Alan Swinbank's Fourth Generation was a disappointing day. In future, with potential substantial win bets, I will put a few quid to lay at 1/5 so I am guaranteed a decent win whatever the outcome. It is boarding on crazy to have a horse touch 1/33 in-running and not win money. I hadn't really consi

No particularly fancies today. A number of Stakes races for the juveniles which never make for the easiest betting medium - generally want a decent price to start. Pleased to see Theladyinquestion winning yesterday. This year has been something of a learning curve and with making time for the blog plus studying it hasn't been ideal but from the small number of tips we have given we have done well and in truth this season has been all about finding the best approach. We have created problems by being too selective in ways and we have come to the conclusion it is best to just give more tips. Saying that, we rarely give tips shorter than 11/4 so we do draw a line at the price. We have attempted to be to precise at times and it is the classic that many decent bets are not put forward as tips which go and win and then the banker runs disappointingly. There is no logic to it and that is why the average must be the answer & why more bets isn't necessarily a bad thing. We have an approac

It is at this time of year that I start to think about the new flat season ahead. This year will be as challenging as any other but I am looking forward to a good season and a chance to build the profile of High Class Equine. This blog will give you a chance to learn more about H.C.E, which to all purposes is a horseracing information service dedicated to two-year-old racing. This year may be of interest to you whether gambler or general enthusiast of the sport of kings. Throughout this season I will be detailing my thoughts and selections within these postings. I am sure you will find a few gems along the way.
