Two 4-min Blue Amberol Cylinders

Golden and Hughes Vaudeville cylinders. "Comic Epitaphs" is about two African Americans who decide to take a shortcut home through a cemetery. Along the way they read aloud the funny epitaphs that are on the tombstones. Condition excellent. "Turkey In The Straw and Sketch" begins with two African Americans talking and joking, and they eventually break into this famous song. Condition excellent, except for one needle dig. NOTE: these records are definitely "racist" by today's standards, "listener discretion is advised".

One 4-min Blue Amberol Cylinder

Uncle Josh Buys An Automobile . Cal Stewart's fictional character, Uncle Josh, decides to purchase his first car under pressure from his wife. The results are disastrous when the car goes out of control and destroys his neighbour's property. Note that this version is much longer than the 10" disc releases that Stewart recorded for other labels. Plays loud and clear.

Lot  6

Edison Opera

This is the fancier mahogany opera. This opera belonged to CAPS member Jim Carino and I bought it just before we stopped having meetings. It's in the same condition as when I bought it, I didn't change anything. My reserve is exactly what I paid for it 2 years ago. All original except for the horn and elbow. Plays fantastic and has the expected amount of wear and tear to the paint and gold lines and finish. The inside of the wood horn is kind of bumpy, I don't know why. Finish is original but the lid has had a coat of clear put on it. Reproducer plays very loud and clear. Plays 4 min Blue Amberol cylinders only. I would really like to keep this machine with our membership.

Lot  7

Brunswick Phonograph

This is the Brunswick all in one, approx. 1919. With the double Ultona reproducer. Plays 78s and Pathé and Edison Diamond Discs. But to play Pathé and DD you will need to get the Pathé sapphire and have a new diamond put in the t bar. Both sides of the reproducer have been rebuilt with new gaskets. There is some wear and flaking to the nickel. Beautiful fancy cabinet with the usual amount of wear. Very quiet 4 spring motor. Comes with the original Brunswick key. The little push/pull rod for the volume baffle is missing..easy fix. I'm not sure about the front doors, they aren't the same as the doors in the old advertising so they may be replaced. I'm just not sure because they fit perfect. Plays very loud and clear. The cabinet is oak and very heavy and solid. Decal is perfect. Top has a couple of light ring marks on it.
