Tips for Sellers
Tips for Sellers
Here are some tips for selling items on Marketplace:
Dropping off and picking up items helps you avoid interacting with people directly.
Use a photo that clearly shows the item and its condition. If possible, include multiple, original photos of the item rather than a photo from a company website.
When recording videos for your listings, be sure to:
Speak about what you want buyers to pay attention to or know about your product.
Show the product and details of the product that you want buyers to be aware of.
Add a detailed description of the item and its condition. Be sure to describe any stains or tears.
If you're selling used clothing or shoes, make sure they're as clean as possible.
If you're selling personal hygiene items, these items should be brand-new and in the original, sealed packaging.
Make sure you both agree on the price of the item and the exact location of your local pickup.
Have the buyer look over the item and make sure it's what they want before you accept payment.

Double-check deals that seem too good to be true. Scammers may try to use underpriced items to lure buyers into a scam. Before purchasing a car, you can check industry tools such as Kelley Blue Book or other trusted sites to have an idea of what you would expect to pay for a similar car.

How ratings work on Facebook Marketplace
How ratings work on Facebook Marketplace
Ratings can be provided from the Facebook app for iPhone or Android, not from facebook.com or Facebook Lite.
To share your feedback and help build a better community on Marketplace, you can rate buyers and sellers you’ve interacted with. Buyer ratings are ratings buyers receive from sellers. Seller ratings are ratings sellers receive from buyers.
About buyer and seller ratings
Your ratings may become public once you receive 5 or more eligible ratings. This may include both the seller and buyer ratings you receive. Anyone on Marketplace who can see your Marketplace profile
will be able to see your ratings.
How is my overall rating calculated?
How is my overall rating calculated?
Your overall rating is the average of all eligible ratings you've received. This may include both the seller and buyer ratings you receive. This is calculated as the sum of your star ratings, divided by the number of ratings you received.

To prevent people from being pressured into changing a rating, you can view your rating once you receive a rating and rate the other person back, or 14 days after you receive the rating — whichever comes first.

You may see a drop in your ratings:

When a user deletes their account either as a buyer or a seller.
When a user deletes their account, either as a buyer or a seller, the rating data of that account is also deleted. We take privacy and data deletion policies very seriously. This helps keep our Marketplace community safe.
