It’s that time of year when red, white and blue are popular colors. Memorial Day followed shortly by 4th of July means that it’s time to pull out the patriotic crafts and get to work! I just wanted to share a few of my favorite patriotic crafts today to help you get started.
I know time is short but these are all crafts that you can make and put away to use again next year. If you don’t get it done by this Memorial Day hopefully you can get it done by 4th of July.
My goal is to have some of them done before 4th of July 2019. Patriotic procrastinators unite!Easy Flag Tshirt. This is the shirt I made for Princess Newbie last year that she’s still wearing. It’s held up amazingly well. Plus if you jump over to that post you get to see her when her hair was still long and before she learned to announce to the entire room that she had just farted.
I saw thesePatriotic Paper Flowers from Live Laugh Rowethis week for the first time and I fell in love. I would love to have this exact bouquet for my mantel this summer. Who wants to make these for me? I’ll trade you a gassy 4 year old.
I love how clean and simple thisBurlap Flag Pillow from Simply Kiersteis. These would be great to throw into those uncomfortable plastic lawn chairs at a barbecue to add a little festive comfort.
I’m not sure what I want more – the Paper Patriotic Flowers or these Firecrackers for my front porch. I love their size and the rope “wick” at the top is the perfect touch. Head over toMy Talking Walls for a tutorialon how to make them.
Finally there’s thispatriotic wreaththat I made last year that I loved so so much. Sadly it fell off the hanger where I was storing it in the closet and the flags both broke. I wound up ripping off the burlap box and repurposing the grapevine wreath but it’s still one of my all time favorite wreaths.
There you go, plenty of crafty ideas to keep you (or your wood working significant other) busy this long Memorial Day weekend.
I’m hoping to make several of these this weekend right after I finished readingThe Fault in Our Starsand making many varieties of popsicles in my newdeluxe popsicle mold.
What are you up to this holiday weekend?
