fairy popcorn - great for a girls birthday party or movie night food ideaPopcorn is magical. Almost everytime I throw a party or a get together, I serve popcorn of some kind. With three girls, you can imagine how many little girls birthday parties I have thrown and there was always popcorn at every party. Everyone loves it and it’s extremely affordable. Our family loves popcorn and many times will eat it for lunch. Every now and then you really just want to jazz up some popcorn and the good news is that is it so much fun to let your imagination go wild when it comes to ways to dress up that popcorn! What better way to dress up popcorn than to give it wings and some fairy dust?  You’re going to love this simple popcorn recipe – Fairy Dust PopcornIt has that bit of salt that we all love about popcorn topped with sweetness. And kids, and a lot of adults, will love the bright happy colors. To make this popcorn you will need:
  • popped popcorn
  • melted white chocolate or melted white almond bark
  • pink sanding sugar
  • sprinkles
Yup! That’s all.  After you pop your popcorn, melt the white chocolate or white almond bark according to package directions. Usually, I use almond bark because it’s very easy to work with. If you’re going to use almond bark, melt it by microwaving for thirty seconds and then stirring. Repeat the process until it’s fully melted. Once your chocolate is melted, lay out your popcorn on a sheet of wax paper and drizzle the top of it with the melted chocolate. Now that it’s pretty well covered, it’s time for the magic. Sprinkle the fairy dust (also known as colored sanding sugar) on top of the popcorn.  Then you’re going to repeat this process with sprinkles. I found these amazing sprinkles at the Walmarts that I fell in love with.Usually when you sprinkle things on top of dry popcorn, it just all falls to the bottom of the bowl. By using white chocolate first, the sprinkles and sugar has something to grab onto. You can eat it right away while the chocolate is still gooey and warm or set it to the side for 30 minutes until the chocolate has hardened. Fairy Dust Popcorn - a great treat for little girls birthday parties or movie nights at home  If you don’t want to make Fairy Dust popcorn, check out this Popcorn Cake recipe . I still dream about it!
