Peppermint Heart Pops – A Wonderful Christmas Gift

I love giving Christmas gifts but when you start tallying up the number of teachers, neighbors, friends, coworks, etc. and etc., the list can get kinda long. That’s when you know that you need an affordable gift that also sends a clear message of love and appreciation.

What sends a better message than a heart? What about a peppermint flavored heart? #Winning.

These are so simple that your kids can help you with them and the bonus is that you can easily make a lot of them for a very little bit of cash.

Wrap them up individually  to give to teachers or coworkers or make a little bouquet of them for those people that you want to give a little something extra too.  They’re cute, simple, fun, yummy. I could go on and on but Mr. Byrd is waiting on me to go to lunch.

Here’s what you’ll need to make these simple Peppermint Heart Lollipops:

Optional: Lollipop treat bags for gift giving

Step one, as always , is to prepare your workstation. In this case, you’re going to need a surface where you can lay these out until they chocolate is hard set. Roll out parchment paper or another non-stick surface to work on.

Next, lay out two mini candy canes in the shape of a heart. It’s so cute. Place a lollipop stick between the bottom of the heart until about the middle of it as shown below.

Once you have your lollipops laid out, you’ll need the glue that holds it all together – melted white chocolate.

You can melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or using a double broiler, whatever floats your boat. Once they are melted, let them cool for a minute where they won’t burn you and then place the melted chocolate into a baggie. Gently snip one corner of the baggie off with scissors and now you have a piping bag.

Gently fill the inside of the candy cane hearts with the melted white chocolate.

If you’re doing a lot of lollipops, only melt part of the chocolate at a time or it will be too hard to keep it from hardening while you work.

Overall, this is a very fast project.

Once the hearts are filled with chocolate, add a few sprinkles if you want and then let them sit until the chocolate is hard.

Once the chocolate is hardened, gently peel them off of the parchment paper and they are ready to serve or gift!

Simple, easy and fun! Plus really, really affordable!
