Position Purpose
Develops, implements, and leads management and ongoing continuous improvement of the Geisel School of Medicine’s Master of Implementation Science ( MIS ) online degree program. Works with program faculty, TAs, and staff as well as Dartmouth’s Learning Design and Innovation Office and Geisel’s Office of Educational Affairs and student support teams, to effectively conceptualize, develop, and implement the MIS program and facilitate successful operation of the program. Serves as a primary contact for the online students, promoting a positive learning experience.

Bachelors plus 6 or more years' experience or combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 6 or more years of experience in implementation science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in education program management, preferably online
  • Exceptional oral, written, and collaborative communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of internal and external partners in a range of positions (e.g., faculty, administration, program staff, learning designers)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Zoom
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD
  • 7-9 years of experience in implementation science or related field
  • Experience and training in implementation science
  • Knowledge of curriculum and course content in implementation science educational programs
  • Existing professional network of implementation science contacts
  • Experience in higher education marketing and communications
  • Experience with Canvas or other online learning platforms

This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead the Geisel School of Medicine’s forthcoming Master of Implementation Science ( MIS ) program. This new, innovative, fully online master’s program is slated to be the first professional implementation science master’s program in the country offered by a medical school. This position provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of in-depth implementation science training and workforce development and contribute meaningfully to this essential and rapidly growing field.
Key Accountabilities
Description
Program Development and Implementation
  • Leads planning, development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of all aspects of the online Master of Implementation Science program, including course development and delivery.
  • Ensures timely and thorough completion of all program deliverables during ongoing cycles of program development, revision, and delivery, effectively collaborating with leadership, faculty, staff, and partners.
  • Determines metrics of success and core elements of the program, communicates these across program stakeholders, and monitors applicable requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Provides direction, support, and collaboration with course leaders to design and implement curriculum within the courses.
  • Communicates effectively with students, faculty, and staff using a variety of mechanisms to ensure information is well delivered and received.
  • Independently takes action or refers students to appropriate sources to meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborates with student life (e.g., academic advising, career services, well-being), admissions and marketing, and registrar offices, to ensure that centralized systems meet the needs of the students and program.
  • Independently manages planning, organizing, and implementing program-specific student events such as onboarding new students, orientation, and poster sessions, ensuring smooth execution of administrative processes.
  • Collaborates with the leadership across the organization in the development and execution of policies and procedures related to MIS program.
  • Develops and implements strategies to cultivate cohort cohesion and community among online students, fostering engagement from the application through to the alumni stage.

Management and Communication
  • Leads recruitment and retention activities for course TAs and staff and works with faculty to promote continuous development of knowledge and skills related to online education.
  • Promotes and disseminates information about the Master of Implementation Science program virtually and in person at local, regional, national, and international forums.
  • Develops and manages program budget in collaboration with program leadership and finance team, conducting on-going monitoring and ensuring accuracy of projections.
