Endless Streaming
Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte

I never thought in a million years that I would enjoy binge watching Sex and the City. To me, it was always this ridiculous show about 4 women living in idealistic Manhattan talking about sex 24/7.

I wasn’t wrong.

But it’s also so much more than that.

At first I was a little hesitant to begin watching it, but being sick in bed and fresh out of ideas for new shows to binge, SJP popped into my head. So I went on Amazon Video, and there it was, all 6 seasons. I started, and haven’t been able to stop since.

Although we like to reminisce about the 90’s, my generation doesn’t actually remember anything from then. And also considering today’s video quality, I thought that the fact that Sex and the City wasn’t in HD 1080p would bother me. On the contrary, actually. I enjoyed every minute of the old school look and feel of the production, the set, and even the fashion.

Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte are 4 best friends that live in the city, and also happen to be strong, independent, working, and successful (not so young) women. Each woman is trying to fulfill her respective definition of love. Each woman has her own personality and ideas on love, and somehow they each manage to give each other advice on achieving that happy ending.

The show has made me laugh, it’s made me cry, and it’s opened my eyes to what life was like when I was only 3 years old (I mostly appreciated that Carrie drank Starbucks and I got to see what the cups looked like in 1998).

I’m excited to finish the series, and as far as I can tell, it’s a show worth recommending.
