Democratic Republic of Congo Minister Elvis Mutiri wa Bashara, the former Minister of Tourism and Culture launched his tourism book ” RDC: Investment Opportunities in tourism” on Friday 29 June at the Kempinski Hotel Fleuve Congo in Kinshasa in the presence of Minister Jean-Lucien Bussa, the Minister of State responsible for International Trade and a five person delegation from the “European Universities Editions” of Germany.
Alain St.Ange, the former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine of the Seychelles delivered the address at the launch of the tourism industry book, written by his colleague and friend Elvis Mutiri wa Bashara.

Speaking from his heart and off the cuff as he is now known for, former Minister Alain St.Ange retraced the era when, together with Minister Elvis Mutiri wa Bushara, they worked for tourism for their respective countries and for increasing the tourism traffic flow into Africa. “We both knew that Africa had all the key USPs needed but we also knew that Africa needed visibility to remain relevant in the world of tourism. With our other dedicated colleagues from the continent, we pushed hard, but more, so much more needs to be done”. said Alain St.Ange. He went on to congratulate RDC for seeing a book published by Europe that showcases their tourism opportunities and in so doing opening the door for Africa. Former Minister St.Ange reiterated that tourism was the industry that needed to be embraced, because it could and would, put money in the pockets of each and every African. Especially when tourism is developed using culture, and putting people at the centre of development of the country.
When they took to the floor, Mohamed Taoufiq El Hajji and Cristina Marcu representing the publishers of the book, retraced how they worked with former Minister Elvis Mutiri wa Bashara, and how this book would be the strong link in the country’s evolution its economic growth and RDC’s social and intercultural evolution, before presenting to the former Minister and author of the book with a Diploma as an Author.

It was Professor Nyabirungu Mwana Songa of RDC who had the honour of presenting the new tourism book to the gathered Ministers, foreign Diplomats, MPs, Local elected representatives and the local tourism industry. He retraced the professional work and career of Elvis Muturi wa Bashara and brought out his political and professional life including his period in exile which he used to further his studies coming back after a number of years stronger that before. He also analysed the book citing the points covered and highlighting the tourism attractions of the RDC that was covered.
Elvis Muturi wa Bashara said when he took to the podium how happy he was to have had friends who stood by him when he was in office as a Minister and also when he was working to compile needed information for the book itself. His thank you speech was appreciated by all present.
