The largest Japanese carrier, All Nippon Airways, and the Italian national carrier, ITA Airways, have entered into a codeshare agreement that links their respective networks.
The enhanced connectivity via Rome Fiumicino and Tokyo Haneda, the hubs of both airlines, will offer customers of both Companies increased travel opportunities under the new commercial partnership.
Starting January 24, 2024, passengers of All Nippon Airways and ITA Airways will benefit from a new agreement. With this agreement, travelers will have the convenience of a single ticket that allows them to check-in at the departure airport and collect their checked baggage at the final destination airport.
Starting January 17th, All Nippon Airways will use its NH code on ITA Airways’ flights between Haneda and Rome, as well as 5 other Italian destinations connected to Rome Fiumicino Airport (Bologna, Venice, Turin, Florence, Naples). At the same time, ITA Airways will include its AZ code on 6 domestic Japanese destinations (Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Itami, Kansai, Okinawa, and Sapporo). ANA and ITA are also considering expanding their cooperation further by adding more codes in the near future.
This agreement aims to strengthen the economic and trade ties between Italy and Japan, facilitating Italian tourists to explore the enchanting aspects of Japan while also providing an easy travel option for Japanese citizens to visit Italy, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the utmost safety standards.
