In a devastating incident on the North-South Expressway in Malaysia , a tour bus carrying 28 passengers from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur caught fire after colliding with a motorcycle.
The bus accident occurred at 3.50 am on January 13, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old Indian tourist, Ms Yafarah Taj Fakrudin Hussaini, who was trapped in the burning bus. Two others, identified as Mr Peer Mohamed Kannudeen, 69, and Ms Anissa Begum Fakrudin Hussaini, 45, suffered serious injuries with third-degree burns.
According to Alor Gajah District Police Headquarters Superintendent Arshad Abu, the collision occurred when the motorcyclist allegedly fell off his bike, leading to the bus hitting the motorcycle and catching fire.
The injured passengers were promptly taken to Hospital Alor Gajah for treatment, while the motorcyclist, 21-year-old Haziq Hilmi Razali, miraculously escaped unhurt. Authorities believe that the deceased and injured passengers were all part of the same family.
