The 3rd edition of the “Days of Latvia” was launched in Rome, in the presence of the Baltic State President, Raimonds Vejonis. The promotional event for the trade interchange between Latvia and Italy was organized by the Agency for Investments and Development of Latvia (LIAA), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Italy.
The “Days of Latvia” consists of a calendar of events, b2b meetings and cultural events, to be held in Rome, Milan and Venice, until November 24th 2019.
The first appointment in Rome, ‘Taste Latvia,’ was a business networking event, coupled with the tasting of typical products and dishes prepared by the Latvian chef Maris Jansons, accompanied by a performance by Latvian musician Līga Liedskalniņa of the duo “Ramtai”.
It will follow, within the next few days, by the exhibition of the creations of the Latvian goldsmith artists Anita Savicka and Anna Fanigina, scheduled at the Simonelli jewelry workshop.
“Our two countries are linked by strong artistic and cultural ties and we hope that this event can generate profitable commercial relationships and a mutual opportunity to develop relationships between companies,” said the President of the Latvian state.
The event, in fact, is to provide an overview of Latvia – from identifying some strategic sectors, such as technology and tourism, to development opportunities for businesses, thanks to a special tax regime, to accelerators and business incubators, to public support for the development of innovation, as well as the success of know-how and products, developed by Latvian companies.
During the ‘Days of Latvia’ numerous b2b meetings will be promoted directly by the LIAA, the Latvian government agency for the promotion of business development, which facilitates foreign investments, and at the same time increases the competitiveness of Latvian entrepreneurs on the domestic market and abroad .
The State Agency, which boasts 20 representative offices abroad, is also the body in charge of promoting tourism in Latvia. Thanks to the direct flights of the Air Baltic, operating from Rome, Milan and Venice, new packages tours are being offered.
