Wanna Start a Blog? Here’s Everything We’ve Learned
By:

Because we’ve been around and blogging for FOREVER (like, going on nine years, guys, which is basically 100 in internet years), we got a lot of people asking us for advice. How do I start a blog? How do I monetize? How do I get a following? How do I brand myself? How do I even get a URL? And we always try to respond. Because, back when we started, we got some INCREDIBLE advice from the girls at Go Fug Yourself and it really did help us. Big time. So we like to pay it back as much as… The post Wanna Start a Blog? You Don’t Have to Be a Gardener to Compost
By:

The only time my thumb has been anything resembling green is when I’ve painted my nails with Mojito Madness. I tried growing some herbs, once upon a time, and … well. I started out quite hopeful, and a few things actually grew, but not enough to be of much use. However, despite the fact that I don’t garden — like, at all — I am an avid composter. It’s not because I need the actual compost for anything, but I can’t stand all the food waste that goes in the garbage otherwise. You guys would not believe how big a difference a… The post You Don’t Have to Be a Gardener to Compost appeared first on Fit Bottomed Girls.

8 Things We Learned in 8 Years of Blogging
By:

Like we said in this post, eight years of blogging is kind of unheard of. Internet years are like dog years, so instead of celebrating our eighth birthday, it’s kind of like we’re celebrating our 100th birthday. (And we’re totally okay with that because we know age ain’t nuthin’ but a number!) And in those 8/100 years, we’ve learned a thing or two. Eight actually (see a theme here?). Whether you’re a blogger or not yourself, we think you’ll find some gems of wisdom in our lessons learned … 8 Things We Learned in 8 Years of Blogging 1. Is it just us, or are good, like really good and relatable yet credible, men’s fitness blogs hard to come by? (This is pretty much why we created Fit Bottomed Dudes’ Week in the first place!) But, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some gems out there. Because there are. And here are nine of them! Our Fave Men’s Fitness Blogs 1. Fit Men Cook. We agree: fit men do cook! And this site makes cooking manly and inspiring and healthy and delicious. 2. Sean Vigue Fitness. We love Sean and not just because he’s on our site and one of… The post 9 Men’s Fitness Blogs We Love appeared first on Fit Bottomed Girls.

Who Needs a Wrist, Anyway?

No matter how much you try to appreciate your body and all of its abilities, you don’t truly appreciate something until its gone. I don’t even have a good story for how I injured my wrist. “I got in a fight with a clown” is what I really want to tell people. But the truth is that I woke up one morning and my wrist hurt a little, like I’d slept on it wrong. Instead of getting better, it just worsened throughout the day. The main problem was that when I’d rotate my wrist, I’d get a sharp pain. I… The post Who Needs a Wrist, Anyway? appeared first on Fit Bottomed Girls.

Pregnancy Pains, Woes and Wishes
By:

For the last 30 weeks I have been nauseated, struggling to keep my face from turning green and my food from coming up. I have started to wobble instead of walk, and I rely on my toddler to help reach my shoes. I feel confident that this is my last pregnancy, so I feel that I should embrace it and feel humbled by every struggle and each ache and pain. I feel that instead of moan about my nausea, I should focus on what my body is doing, and has done. Instead of cry about the excruciating pain I feel… The post Pregnancy Pains, Woes and Wishes appeared first on Fit Bottomed Girls.

Kitchen Sink Soup: The Perfect Dinner When There’s “Nothing” in the House to Eat

Ever heard of kitchen sink soup? Where you put whatever you have (but the kitchen sink) in a pot and turn it into an edible and hopefully delicious soup? Well, I have no real proof to back me up on this besides my husband’s feedback and my own ego, but I’m going to go ahead and declare myself the Queen of the Healthy Kitchen Sink Soup. I like to think it’s a skill. Here’s last week’s kitchen sink soup (I probably make some version of kitchen sink soup every other week just to finish off what’s left in the fridge with minimal… The post Kitchen Sink Soup: The Perfect Dinner When There’s “Nothing” in the House to Eat appeared first on Fit Bottomed Girls.

The following post is sponsored by Brooks Running. For our sponsored post policy, click here. Remember how the last couple of years I’ve gotten to go to New York to hang with Brooks Running? Well, this year instead of the Big Apple we hung out in Brooks’ ‘hood: Seattle! And it was a pretty epic trip. I’ll chronicle the amazing meals I had over on Fit Bottomed Eats tomorrow, but I think this shot of all us Brooks Running blog ambassadors sums it up pretty well. Seen above (from left to right, top to bottom) is me, Janae, Cori, Jess, Anne and Meghann (special shout-out to Lauren,… The post A Pretty Epic Brooks Running Adventure in Seattle appeared first on Fit Bottomed Girls.

When it comes to pets and fitness, we’re not the only ones with tails wagging. Some of my favorite veterinarians and pet bloggers have a lot to say on the topic, too, so I asked them to drop a little of their pet-fitness-tips knowledge on us for Fit Bottomed Pets Week!
