Well I did it...said I would, and I had to honour my word....of course...
I will be 45 this year and spent my life riding horses, training dogs, mowing lawns...riding quads. I decided I should get my motorcycle license..to keep my education up..keep my mind learning new things....So, I signed up for a motorcycle course and began looking at bikes....
I didn't have to have a bike, I would wait till I was through my course and then decide. My heart was pulled to the Yamaha 650 V Star, I liked everything about it, but what color, buy new or used? What if I didn't like it? what if I did?
I woke up one morning, called a dealer from another town, and they had it...The bike had just been traded in and it was in new condition. Less than 12,000 km, without a scratch...and it was purple!
I headed down right away, and there she was...sparkling purple...
I bought her on the spot, got myself a helmet, jacket, riding gloves and chaps....
I picked her up in a horse trailer and she is unloaded now in my garage.
I have finished the in-class room portion of my motorcycle course, and I do 2 days of skills riding this coming Tuesday/Wednesday. I am so excited. At the end of those 2 days, I will do the skills test that will allow me to hit the road...on any bike, without my instructor..if I wish.
Will I ride the purple bike then? After this 2 days, there is 1 more day of riding on the roads with the course. I think that is the day, I will get on my bike! I have already spoken to the instructor and I have said that before I actually ride the bike, I would like him to come over, introduce me to my bike and take me out on a ride..in a private lesson...
I want to be sure, I can handle it...first time out...
I am excited, and scared too. I have a 6 year old daughter, a single Mother...so I want to be as safe as safe can be......
vroom...vroom.....
purple..can you imagine that....had to be to be my perfect fit.....
I have called her Jacinta, which means purple in Spanish and Greek....

I just went and purchased the same bike in NC. Was looking online about those and this came up. Hope we both enjoy and more power to us riding ladies.

What a perfect name! You sound so confident that I'm sure you'll just love riding her. Post some pictures when you can.
