Last week at age 55 I passed the MSF Basic Riders Course and received my motorcycle license endorsement. Forty years after sitting on my father's 1965 Honda, my dream of riding finally came true. In April my husband purchased a 1985 Honda Rebel 250 to get back into riding (he rode in the 70's), he took me on a ride the night we brought it home and my reaction was "I have got to get me one of these!". Got my temps in June, wobbled in first gear in a parking lot for a few feet once and then on to class in July. Yesterday, I rode on the streets of our neighborhood for the first time. Glorious!!

Oh my gosh, your story is pretty much the same as mine! I am 58 and took the Rider's Edge course the first weekend in June - and passed!! My husband found a Rebel for me in April and got me started. I I love it! I wish I'd done it 10 years ago!!
Congratulations to you!!

I want to congratulate you for stepping up and learning to ride your own. I took that step about 5 years ago and still love to ride. I can't get enough riding in. I will be turning 50 in Sept. this year and I'm loving life right now on my motorcycles. Don't have to worry about any little ones back at home as they are all grown up now which makes riding even more enjoyable for me. Just keep practicing and you too will enjoy your new life on 2 wheels.
