I found a way to have great looking hair after a long days ride. No more helmet hair. Either the night before or the morning of, with wet hair, section it off & twist, make into as flat of a bun as possible, clip or pin the bun in place. Repeat until all of your hair is twisted & pinned. I like the clips, the pins poke. Then when you get to your destination, remove clips, flip your hair upside down, run your fingers through it, slightly messing it up, & presto you have volume & curls without a brush or styling products. An added bonus to this is your wet hair keeps you cool while riding in hot weather. Deppending on how curly you want to go, make the buns larger, for lose wavey hair & small tight buns for really curly hair. I would revommend you try it out a time or two before hand. Hope you find this helpful. :0)

I tried your suggestion and it worked quite well. I washed my hair, applied a little mousse and when it was lightly damp I sectioned it into 5 small buns held with barette clips. I covered my head with my scarf and put my helmet on. I made sure to pack my wide tooth comb in my bag. Arriving at our destination after an hour and a half ride, I took off the helmet, the scarf, and unclipped my hair - bent forward - fluffed it up and used the comb a little through it and to circulate the air through it a little.
It worked wonderfully! Thanks for the great tip.

I don't know how you'd keep all those little clips from getting dragged off when putting the helmet on or from bothering you while wearing the helmet.

may work for longer hair, but not for those of us that keep it short, but not Extremely short.
