I just got my motorcycle endorsement a little over a year ago and signed the papers on my 2011 Harley 883 Iron Sportster in July. After a horrible year that has included 2 funerals, one call from the police to pick up my husband, a move from Germany w/ the military and numerous car problems (just to name a few), I was in need of some retail therapy. No amount of shoes & purses were to going to give me the sense of freedom, control and sheer thrill of being on a motorcycle. *My* motorcycle. I've done 2 deployments as an Air Force vehicle operator assigned to drive convoys for the Army in Iraq. With over 25,000 mi. outside the wire in an armored tractor-trailer, I figure I can do anything. Good thing, too, since we had more car problems last week and it's been the only way to get to work! :)
Comments for It's been a bad year & shoes/purses just weren't cutting it...so I bought a Harley

You go girl, congratulations. Love your attitude and choice of bikes. I am a believer of we can do anything. Check out what I did this summer on "MY" motorcycle. http://missrider.com/
God Bless you for having served for our freedom, my son is a Marine and did tours in Iraq too.
I think of my ride every day and cannot wait to do it again, just because "we can"......
