I just completed the MSF course here in town, and I've read the owners manual for my bike. I was just wondering what kinda of pre-ride inspection you ladies do on your bikes. The one recommended by the MSF has me picking up the bike a few times to check various components. The one in the manual has me removing the seat everytime to check the battery. Any thoughts?

When I am at a steady 40 mph and i come to a stop I slow down in gear 3 or 4 and stop
Is this ok to do?
I go down to first before I take off again

I LOVE the website, LOTS of great information for a new rider. I just passed the MSF rider safety course, they use Honda and Yamaha 250's. I'm looking online for a bike and the majority have forward controls, both newer and older bikes. I'm just curious as to the difference in shifting and braking, if there is any at all. I'm imagining that the concept of course is the same, is it just a simple matter of the controls being in a different position? I'm also wondering about my legs being too short and not able to reach the controls.
Thank you.
