I bought the bike initially to save money on gas and parking. I work downtown and parking costs too much. It was also my gift to myself as I turned 30. I got a Honda Shadow 750 because the salesmen said a cruiser was best for taking my 8 year old daughter on. Everyone thought/still thinks I'm crazy for riding and taking my girl on it. I love the freedown, the control, the risk, everything... Three years later and still a single mom, I can't wait to take my new daughter (16 months now) on it when she's old enough. Its mostly a commuter bike, but occassionally when grandma can babysit, I get to take it out on the curves for some relaxing/exhilirating fun. My older one misses riding daily to school, so we try to take it whenever we do things just the two of us. Since she doesn't ride with me daily anymore, I'm thinking a sport bike might be fun. In addition of course, not to replace.

Sandy- I love the fact the 250 is so lightweight. It is a nice change from riding the heavy cruiser. We changed the countersprocket one tooth so I have more top-end as it was geared too low. Of course the controls are completely different but because I change between the bikes so frequently I have acclimated. It felt really wierd to ride the sportbike in the beginning but now I love her! I only use her for shorter rides & commuting to work.

Lynn, How does the 250 compare? I was thinking a Ninja also, but a 250 seems so small compared to my 750, or your 1100.

Just a few months ago I added a 250 Ninja sportbike to my garage. I also ride a VStar 1100 cruiser. I must say I love my little Ninjette & she gets 80 mpg!
