I have long red unruley hair. I put it in a fairly tight french, or reverse french braid when my hair is damp. At the end of the day when I take out the braid my hair is full and curly. Just keep the sunglasses on your head like a head band and VOILA.... decent hair for the photo ops. Most importantly it stays pretty healthy and is comfortable in the helmet. I also switched to Wen hair care products. I get them off e-bay so I don't have to do the automatic purchase deal they require. If I had short hair, I guess I would have to grow it out, but I would definitely try Wen on it. I am headed out on my 1997 BMW F650GS from Key west to Prudoe Bay this summer.... across Canada, into Maine and back home to Florida. I expect many a very bad hair days.... And I cant wait. My Boyfriend will be on his KTM 950 Adventure. We will ride two up in Alaska... at my request. I will pick up my bike on the way back south. It is amazing and frustrating how many more issues we women have to deal with on these trips. Thank god for Walmart!!!!

I have long hair so I just french braid it when it's damp. I have found that it works the best & it's tangle-free when done riding. I put a leave-in conditioner on it before I braid it, helps it keep in better shape.

Pulling wet/damp hair back, braiding, barrettes, elastics, etc. can all damage the hair. When hair dries, it shrinks, thus causing damage and breakage.
