We love making vintage recipes that we used to enjoy when we were younger and having our younger family members try them for the first time. Broken Jello (or Broken Glass Jello) is a colorful and sweet treat that you can even match the colors to whatever holiday is going on.

All of the ingredients you will need for your Holiday Broken Jello dessert is two different flavors of gelatin, unflavored gelatin, sweetened condensed milk, hot and boiling water.

How to make Broken Jello:

1. Set out 2 – 13×9 pans or dishes. (You can use 4 – square pans)

Dissolve the Lime Gelatin in boiling water.

2. Combine 6oz of Lime Gelatin in a medium bowl with 2 cups of Boiling Water.

3. Stir until the gelatin is dissolved

4. Pour until one of the prepared 13×9 pans

Dissolve the Cherry Gelatin in boiling water.

5. Repeat steps #2, #3, and #4 with the 6oz of Cherry Gelatin.

After the lime and cherry gelatins have set for 1 to 2 hours, you can cut them in the squares.

6. Place pans into the refrigerator to set, about 1 to 2 hours.

7. Lightly spray another 13×9 dish with cooking spray.

Dissolve the unflavored gelatin in hot water.

8. In a medium bowl, stir unflavored Gelatin and 2 cups of Hot Water until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

Combine Sweetened Condensed Milk after you make the hot water and unflavored gelatin mixture.

9. Stir in Sweetened Condensed Milk

10. Let it sit until mostly cooled down (About 20 minutes)

Cut the gelatin in 1-inch squares.

11. Meanwhile, remove both pans from the refrigerator and cut into small cubes, about 1-inch squares.

Add the cherry and lime gelatin squares to your prepared 13x9 pan.

12. Evenly place the gelatin cubes in the prepared 13×9 pan.

Pour the milk and unflavored gelatin mixture over the jello squares.

13. Pour over the gelatin squares when the milk and gelatin are cooled down.

After pouring the milk and unflavored gelatin mixture over the the jello squares, place it in the fridge for 4 hours.

14. Place in the refrigerator to set for 4 hours

Put the leftover Holiday Broken Jello bars back in the fridge.

15. Cut into bars and serve

16. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

  • 1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk (14oz
