Simone Rolfes, sports director of Leverkusen Alejandro Grimaldo confirmed he has no concerns in an interview with Spanish media that he wants to return to the Liga stage in the future. Grimaldo moved from Barcelona to play abroad in January 2016 after signing a contract with Benfica until moving to play with Leverkusen Free of charge in the summer of last year The 28-year-old left-back previously revealed to UFABET that he would like to return to the Liga stage one day in the future.

‘All I want is a championship title. We are close to winning the Europa League. and the Football Cup (DFB Pokal), winning the Bundesliga is historic. But winning the treble would be crazy,’ Grimaldo told UFABET.

The 28-year-old left-back also revealed his ambitions to play on the Liga stage as well. Having not touched the competition since leaving Barcelona’s youth team in 2016, he said: ‘It is one of my goals to play in La Liga in the future because this is my country.’ 

However, Rolfes, as the person in charge, confirmed that Leverkusen has no plans to sell Grimaldo this summer and is confident the Spanish left-back will continue with the drug club next season.

‘The fact that he basically wants to play in his home country again later in his career is not surprising. Many players who play abroad have this desire,’ Rolfes said.

With a contract with Leverkusen until 2027, so Rollfes has no intention of letting Grimaldo leave this summer. ‘We plan 100 percent with him for next season.’

Grimaldo has done an impressive job with Leverkusen’s Xavier Alonso with 11 goals and 16 assists from 41 games played in all competitions this season.
