If you had three days (72 hours) in the UK where would you go? Last year Pretty Handsome Guy and I had this exact dilemna. We had three days to explore London and the surrounding area. It was a whirlwind trip and we walked 10 miles the first day, 8 miles the second and 7 miles the third day. We saw plenty and brought home many pictures and memories.
I was reminded of our trip this week as the world is turning its lens on London for the upcoming Royal wedding. I hope you will enjoy some of the photos from our trip last April.

We spent one day in Windsor touring the castle, the town of Windsor and Eton (just across the river from Windsor). I highly recommend taking this day excursion outside of London!

While at Windsor Castle we saw the obligatory changing of the guard. The royal band played a few songs for the queen. It must have been all request day because they played: Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. I am not kidding! I couldn’t make that up.
We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled DIY posts on Friday! And I’ll be glued to the telly watching the Royal wedding! Am I the only one old enough to remember watching Charles and Diana’s wedding?

I am just now getting around to reading your post, awesome! I love all the pics. I was fortunate to be able to take a tour of England, Scotland and Wales a few years ago, it was amazing! I loved it! We got to stay in London for 2 or 3 nights. SO fun! Thanks for sharing this post. Mind the Gap 😉
I remember Princess Diana’s wedding. In fact, we were in London on the day she died. That is soemthing I will never forget. We still have the London Times newspaper that was published that morning saying that she was injured. We were headed to Windsor Castle that day and we still went, but of course it was closed. It was interesting seeing the people coming up to the entrance, not knowing that it was closed because she had died. We even saw the plane fly over that highway that was carrying her body, cars were lined up along side the highway. Sad times, but at least there was a wonderfully happy occasion last week. 🙂
I loved seeing these, how fun! I was in London in 2004 and we walked up to Buckingham Palance just as the changing of the guard started, how lucky. And yes they played something funny like the Star Wars theme!

I did a study abroad trip to England my Senior year in college (University of Herdforshire) and it was amazing. Loved London. Your pictures turned out much better than mine. But the memories are imprinted in my mind.
I won’t be watching the Royal’s wedding at 4am but can’t wait to see Kate’s dress.
