A 13yo witch coming of age exploring the world, facing challenges, making mistakes, fixing common problems, and, like most young witches, trying to find a vacant village or town to exercise her skill.
Kiki's delivery service is a movie that reminds us of what really matters.
For instance, at one point she starts obsessing about boys and bothering with girls gossip, giving importance to fancy dresses and wishing for shiny shoes and is soon surprised by seeing her witch skills fading and has to embark on an inspiring journey of friendship and self-discovery to find what truely motivates her spirit and eventually regains her abilities when they're needed to save the life of one of her friends during an accident.
Modest movie with no hallucinating ridiculous made up effects but plenty of useful everyday life lessons that shouldn't be forgotten, independently of whether you're a witch, a baker, an artist or an overall creative person.
Doctor Sleep, sequel to The Shining, portrays OBEs, psi skills, & psi combat quite accurately:)
Woah, indeed.
Definitely need to watch it once it becomes available on my Netflix or something.
Though, imho it's a bit unfortunate that it's a horror.I think it might serve as a better source of motivation for people if it were more of an action & adventure.

A stable-minded person will neither hug nor hate the world, he will take things as they come.
After watching, I would say it's more psychological thriller than horror. It's about how people of divergent ethics make use of their psychic gifts. It's also the hero's journey & overcoming trauma.
Watching The Shining, first is useful for context because it explains how psi works in that universe, but the two movies are nothing alike:)
P.S. I found The Shining, to be super boring. I found Doctor Sleep, to be amazing; it's now one of my favorite movies
Also, nice to hear from you Sussch; hope all is well.
Nice, sounds like it might make it into my favorites as well.
Yeah, I also found The Shining to be somewhat boring.
It seems that things are considerably better than the past few years.

Just watched it and it's indeed a new favorite
Thank you for recommending it!

Happy you enjoyed the movie. It definitely felt accurate to my own experiences of astral & telepathic interactions:)
OrderedChaos, Thanks for the reminder. This one was definitely on my list, but I had forgotten about it. Will check it out tonight:)
YouTube mobile app is formatting the links weird. Sigh. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is excellent story telling and actually gives good advice for training psi.
