Has anyone ever been able to make an object out of thin air and then make it disappear into nothingness?
I have not, I think.
I've tried to a few times, but haven't managed to manifest an object yet.
Have you read Steve Richards' "Invisibility"?

He has collected accounts of people making objects disappear in a dark mist, and at least one of the stories was about forming an object out of white mist.

A stable-minded person will neither hug nor hate the world, he will take things as they come.

What about techniques for doing so?
You could try the techniques described in the book.
Though, nothing works on just a technique.
You'd need enough concentration and as owltwelve has said, ecstatic energy as well.

Sorry, I hadn't noticed this thread.
The main technique which is cross culturally used, is tactile visualization of the object you're trying to create. Your concentration must be bright & stable enough that it's indistinguishable from physical matter reality. If you you have cultivated ecstatic energy(kundalini/sexual energy); the process goes faster because you have a plasma like proto-matter to imprint the visualization on.
So far; I've only been able to make forms which refract light & have been felt physically by others. These forms have been heard & sometimes smelled as well, but they have mostly been unstable, do to imperfect concentration.
My advice is is to develop concentration to the higher jhana states; then practice materialization:)
Omega(the end) + X(the unknown) = Ending Ignorance of the unknown. Truth...knowledge...enlightenment
There is no failure only feedback. Failure is when you stop trying.
OrderedChaos, I've only had people comment on their experience of the tulpa I make. I never really tried collaborative materialization, but I would love to do that one day. Your idea reminds me of The Philip experiment:)
