UNCASVILLE, CT – The 2011 Mohegan Sun World Baseball Coaches’ Conventionwill take place at the spectacular Mohegan Sun Convention Center in Uncasville, Connecticut, from January 20 – 22, 2011, and will feature a blockbuster line-up of presenters, including:

  • Former Boston Red Sox Shortstop and current ESPN Analyst Nomar Garciaparra
  • Two-time World Series Champion and Major League Baseball All-Star Al Leiter.
  • New York Yankees Hitting Coach Kevin Long.
  • Former New York Mets Manager and current ESPN Analyst Bobby Valentine.
  • World Series Champion San Francisco Giants Bench Coach Ron Wotus.
  • Tampa Bay Rays Batting Coach Derek Shelton.
  • University of Connecticut Head Baseball Coach Jim Penders .
  • Wake Forest University Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Dennis Healy.
  • Milwaukee Brewers Pitching Coach Rick Peterson.

These are just some of the 35 top baseball managers, coaches, players, and performance specialists who will share their knowledge at this world-class baseball coaches’ clinic, which attracts over 1,000 baseball coaches to the Mohegan Sun Convention Center each year.

Coaches of all levels will learn methods for improving their coaching skills and making their teams better – with sessions on everything from mental preparation to field preparation. Breakout sessions include: Strength & Conditioning for Today’s Player (presented by Dana Cavalea, New York Yankees Strength and Conditioning Director); Hitting, Stance, Balance and Swing Plane (presented by New York Yankees Batting Coach Kevin Long); Developing Your Pitching Paradigm: Posture, Rotation, Connection, and what Federer, Boxers and Brakes Have Taught Us (by St. Louis Cardinals Minor League Pitching Coordinator Brent Strom); and Quality At-Bats: The Mental Side of Hitting (by Steve Springer of Quality At Bats and the Toronto Blue Jays). Mohegan Sun World Baseball Coaches’ Convention pre-registration is $139 per coach ($159 at the door), which includes a free gift for all registrants. Pre-registration for students or players (14-18 years old) is just $75.
