Es muy común en el béisbol decirle “espía” a un pelotero que es deficiente con el guante. Para poder jugar en las Grandes Ligas debes ser un muy buen bateador si eres maluco con el guante y/o viceversa. Uno de esos casos que han ocurrido en el béisbol , uno de esos James Bonds, de esos espías 007 que han existido, podríamos decir que uno de los peores guantes de la historia ha sido Dick Stuart.

Desde que comenzo su carrera Stuart dio muestras de gran poder, tanto así que en 1956 dio 66 jonrones en la liga clase A , léase bien : 66 Homeruns , recordando que el record para aquel entonces lo tenia el Bambino Ruth con 60 ,desde el año 1927. Dick Stuart jugo esas cuatro temporadas con Los Piratas, donde ayudo con su bate a pasar a post temporada y ganar la Serie Mundial en 1960.
