Todo a punto para comenzar una nueva temporada del mejor béisbol del Mundo : Las Grandes Ligas.Este año será más emocionante, ya que habrá dos nuevos lugares para la postemporada, por lo que las posibilidades de jugar en octubre se amplían.Ahora se tendrán 10 invitados en playoffs, los 3 campeones divisionales y dos comodines. Por supuesto que al comenzar todos en el mundo del bèisbol comienzan a dar sus pronosticos. Estas son mis observaciones de cara a el inicio de la campaña:
DETROIT
Los Tigres de Detroit no tendrán rival en la división central, salvo ocurra una serie de eventos desafortunados, los dirigidos por Jim Leyland deben estar del otro lado. Cuentan con el dueto más poderoso de todo el Béisbol con Miguel Cabrera y su flamante contratación Prince Fielder; además de tener al MVP Justin Verlander considerado el mejor lanzador de la actualidad, detrás de él vienen: Rick Porcello, Max Scherzer y Doug Fister, que sin tantos reflectores ya demostraron que maduraron y están listos para grandes retos . Difícilmente exista otra organización en esta división que cuente con una novena tan compacta como los Tigres de Detroit, y es que los felinos ya exhibieron su potencial en 2011 cuando llegaron hasta la Serie de Campeonato.
Cuentan con el lanzador más dominante de las Mayores en este momento, el As Justin Verlander quien viene de un año brillante en el cual se alzó con la Triple Corona del Picheo, así como también obtuvo la distinción del Jugador Más Valioso y el premio Cy Young. A esta luminaria se unirán los serpentineros Max Scherzer, Rick Porcello y Doug Fister para conformar una de las mejores rotaciones de liga.
En cuanto al bullpen, podría considerarse como el único punto débil de la novena dirigida por Jim Leyland, la responsabilidad recaerá en los brazos de Joaquín Benoit y del recién llegado Octavio Dotel, quienes le preparan el camino al terrorífico cerrojo José Valverde.
Entretanto, la alineación felina luce completa, encabezada por dos de los mejores bateadores de las últimas campañas en las Mayores, el criollo Miguel Cabrera y el slugger Prince Fielder quien promete suplir con creces la baja de Víctor Martínez, ausente esta temporada por su lesión en la rodilla, asimismo Austin Jackson y Don Kelly seguramente no tendrán problemas para movilizarse en las bases esperando ser remolcados por la dupla Cabrera-Fielder más Delmon Young y Johnny Peralta, bateadores productivos en los últimos tiempos.
YANKEES
Los Yankees reforzaron su punto más débil: Pitcheo abridor, la llegada de Michael Pineda e Hiroki Kuroda les dará bastante respaldo a Sabathia, Nova y García. Su bullpen es de lo mejor de la liga con el histórico Mariano Rivera como líder. El retorno de Andy Pettitte puede aportar bastante. Por primera vez en las últimas 3 campañas Alex Rodríguez está totalmente sano y a sus 35 años consciente de que ya no es el mejor, quiere demostrar que sigue siendo un pelotero de elite, junto con el los “Bombarderos” tienen 3 potenciales MVP: Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson y Mark Teixeira. La principal preocupación para Joe Girardi es la salud de Derek Jeter y Rodríguez, dos piezas básicas en su sistema de juego. El año pasado se vieron limitados a solo 130 juegos Jeter y 99 A-Rod.
