10 Sure Signs You Are Dating A Boy And Not A Man

Sharing is caring!

You are head over heels in love with your man. He's the best. Most of the time. He has his moments but for the most part, he's a great man. Then there's the rest of the time when he acts like a child and you start to wonder, are you dating a man or a boy?

We all have our childlike moments. It's hard to have to grow up and act like an adult. Being silly and goofy is fun, right? Sure it is. But like anything, there's a time and a place for it. Is your man acting like a boy more than he should be? Here are 10 signs you are dating a boy and not a man.

He throws food at you at parties.

You know when kids have food fights at parties and think it's hilarious to toss around some chicken wings and if they happen to nail you upside the head, well that's just downright hilarious to them? Yes, that's a boy.

Talks to his mates  on his mobile  phone while you're having a romantic dinner at a restaurant.

(Girls are guilty of this too though). And they aren't really talking about anything important. What time the game is on, did you see last week's play, did you get the new part for your car? The mobile  phone definitely has it's time and place. A romantic dinner is not that.

He pokes fun at you in front of friends.

Not jokingly in innocent fun but rudely and seriously cuts you down. Not only is this really disrespectful but it's something that high school boys do. No matter who it is, or what age you are, don't put up with this from anybody.

He doesn't open the car door for you.

Every man should be doing this all the time, no matter if it's your wife, mother, girlfriend, sister or co-worker. I'm sad that most old fashioned traditions have died off. This is one of them that most men forget to do.

Sex is all about him.

No foreplay, no romancing, no anything that will give you the least bit of pleasure. He needs to release some sexual tension and it's usually pretty fast. He only sees the end result, which is, well you know. He couldn't care less if there is any pleasure for you. Boy.

He's always trying to impress his friends, sometimes at your expense.

He cares what his friends think of him and he's obsessed with what other people think of him. He is constantly trying to impress other people and sometimes you take the back burner because of it.

He uses you as a Mum replacement.

He throws his clothes on the floor, leaves his dishes everywhere and doesn't pick up after himself ever. Why should he have to when he has you to do that for him? He doesn't want an equal in a partner, he wants a mum replacement.

He has no ambition.

He would rather lay around on the couch and play video games or watch sports then go do something fun or maybe even learn something new. Anything. He has no ambition to improve his life in any way shape or form.

He really likes you for your looks…

…not your mind or personality. He is just happy to have you as arm candy and is never really interested in what you have to say or what you're doing. It doesn't matter to him as long as you stay physically beautiful.

He's really just rude in public.

If he's mean or ignorant to people outside the home, the waiter, the cab driver, the dry cleaning lady and anyone else, then he's just a dick. He has no respect for humans and thinks he's the next best thing to gluten free sliced bread.

There are many more ways you can tell a boy from a man but these are the ones that are clear red flags. If your man displays any of these traits he's more of a boy than the man you thought he was. From here you have two options. Hope he changes and help him grow up, or toss him to the curb. There will be a "girl" out there perfect for him, but it isn't you. You're a woman who needs a man. Period.
