Who can remember The Flintstones and The Jetsons? What about Winnie the Pooh and Dr. Seuss? We grew up with colourful shows that we were really only watched on Saturday mornings. Or maybe I'm just showing my age just now but I think most people reading this article can relate. Maybe The Flintstones didn't really have any valuable messages to us except that maybe we should appreciate our cars today because they had to use their bare feet back in the stone age.
I've realized however that it's not just the cartoons from yesteryear that had messages for us, but even most of the animated movies that Disney and Pixar put out. The kids may not get the messages but the adults sure do. We get it alright. I've compiled a nice little list for you of some quotes from some of my favourite cartoons, children's books and/or animated movies.
