3 Super Easy Ways to Go From Blah and Bored to Brave and Badass

Sharing is caring!

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think" ~ Winnie the Pooh

Your neighbour is off on another adventure and you wonder where the heck she gets the nerve to do all this exciting stuff she keeps doing. Her life is colorful and awesome and full of mind blowing stories that most people only read about in the Lonely Planet. The pictures she shows you leave you in awe. You are oh so jealous of her and wish you can be just like her. Brave and badass. You're happy for her and envious at the same time.Your life is the same day in and day out. Nothing changes. You're clearly bored out of your tree and life is mega blah. You have lots of dreams and ideas and super plans to do things but you never do any of them. Your friend, on the other hand, kicks life into high gear. She knows this is the only life on earth she has and she wants to make the most and the best of it.

from_blah_and_bored_to_brave_and_badass So what does she have that you don't?

Nothing, really. The only difference between her and you is that she's actually taking the steps to do epic shit instead of just dreaming about it. Don't think you can be like her? Think again. You sure can and if you follow these crazy easy steps, you two will be exchanging photos in no time!!

Travelling not really your thing? That's ok. You can use these steps to get any part of your life from blah to badass. You have this dream in you. It's bold, exciting, daring and totally out of your comfort zone. It's your dream, no one else's. It doesn't matter how crazy or big it is, it is yours and that's the most important thing right there.   You've had this dream for a long time. That's also very important. The only thing you've been doing with this dream is, well, dreaming about it.

Why? Oh, we all know why. Fear keeps getting in the way. Remember your travelling friend? She's probably got some fear too but you know what she does with it? Flicks it far far away. Yup. She sure does. Are you ready to face fears and flick them? Great!

It's time to make stuff happen. Let's go!

1. Start talking about it to anyone who will listen.

You want to go skydiving. Tell your friends. Talk about it a LOT! Talk about it every day. Imagine what it would feel like to be up in the plane and talk to your friend about what that would feel like. Encourage them to share one of their biggest craziest dreams too! You can both excitedly share your dreams. Talk about it more. If no one wants to listen, then tell your pet cat, dog or lizard. Doesn't matter who listens or who doesn't, what matters is that you start getting it out from the bubble that hovers over your head and bring it into existence. The more you hear yourself talking about it, the more excited you will get about it and the more you will want to do it.

2. The wonderful world wide web.

Research research research. I can't stress this enough. The more you surf the web looking at different websites about your dream, you will surely see that people from all over the world have already done it. Crazy, right? The more you look, the more you will discover and that is crucial in preparing you for bringing your dream to reality. Yes we're bringing it to reality! You didn't think I wrote this for entertainment purposes only did you? The Google search bar is a fantastic tool. You type in anything you want and something magically appears. Start looking up information that will bring you closer to realizing your dream. Take some time every single day to research. An hour, half an hour, however much time you have to spend, but do it daily! Read about how others did it. Get information. Will it be easy? Is it possible (good grief of course it is!!!)? How can I do it? That's exactly what the web is for. Use it!!! Don't let a day go by that you don't talk about it and research it.

3. Take action.

This is where you start making phone calls, email different sites for more information, sign up to newsletters, if you have to, that give you more information or step by step guides. Start gathering all the information you can about your dream and get yourself one step closer. Go to stores or workshops or events that are geared to your interests.   Let's go back to sky diving. Call the nearest sky diving place and inquire about dates, times, prices etc. Yes, it's time to call them! Find out what it will take to get you in the air and jumping out of a plane. Start making notes and marking things down on a calendar. For example, make a note that on Friday at 3:00 pm of this week you are going to call the sky diving place. Schedule it like a doctor's appointment. Do it and stick to it.

It will be a matter of time, and not much time either, trust me on that, before you are starting to feel really super excited about your dream. When, not if, you follow these steps you will encounter a lot of emotions but remember the underlying emotion to all the crazy feelings you are going to experience is fear.   It is going to try to tell you things like "You can't do this" "You're dreaming, you're never going to do this in a million years" "Stop wasting your time". The one thing you absolutely need to do when this happens is tell it to "Shut up"!! Seriously, tell it to simmer down. You are not interested in listening to it anymore. You've heard it long enough and because of it, your life hasn't changed. It's time. It's time to take a stand and face up to fear. Hasn't it controlled your life long enough?

Are you ready?

Hello Expedia, how much for a nice room in Paris please?
