5 Astounding Psychology Books Everyone Should Read That Will Change Your Life

Sharing is caring!

Who doesn't love snuggling up in bed with a good book? Ok well I mean besides cuddling with your partner of course. Bedtime reading is usually the best. We actually retain the information longer because it's the last thing we remember before we shut our eyes and go to sleep. Keep that in mind if you love to read horror stories at bedtime and then wonder why you have scary dreams.

It seems these days, the personal development industry has exploded. Everyone wants to better themselves some way, shape or form. I think this is brilliant. The world needs more happy self-confident people. The dilemma most of us seem to face is which books to buy. They all seem good and they all profess to be able to help you *retrain your brain and get your life back on track*.   You start asking around at the office if anyone has read any good change your life kind of books and not surprisingly, no one has. Off you go into internet land to search for the top 10.

5_books I have a library full of self-help and psychology books. I devour books like that as a child does candy. The mind intrigues me and I'm always on the lookout for the latest best seller with new ideas and thoughts on behavioural development and personal growth.

If anyone was to ask me what my top 5 psychology books are that I think everyone should read, my list would look something like this.

1. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion.

This book is for you if you h ave a hard time making an impact or getting people to notice you. If you always feel like the fifth wheel and no one listens to or respects your opinion much, this book is a must read. It will help you and teach you how to get out of the back seat and slip into the driver's seat of your life and get people to notice and pay attention.

2. Thinking, Fast and Slow.

If it's behaviour modification you want to explore a little deeper, then this is the book for you. It's brilliantly written and probably one of the best behaviour books I have ever read. This book is for the reader who is looking for ways on how to make decisions, how to think creatively and passionately yet somewhat diplomatically . If you have a hard time with any of that, this book is for you.

3. Switch: How to Change Things When Things Are Hard.

This book is for yo u if you've been thinking that you are definitely ready for something to change but you're not sure how to do it or you are simply afraid to do it. Change is hard and this book will make it easier for you. It goes into great detail about change whether it be the workplace, your family/ home life or just you r life in general.

4. The Happiness Hypothesis.

The title speaks for itself. For anyone looking for that happiness but can't quite understand how or where to find it, this books digs deep into psychology and neuroscience to bring you simple and somewhat complex theories that make sense. In this book you will find practical solutions to all your happy problems.

5. Man's Search for Meaning.

This book will touch every string of your heart and o pen your mind and eyes to real world problems, your take on them on now, and what your take on them should look like. This book was published in 1946 and theories can still be applied today. If you are searching for how to get a better handle on life and what life throws at you, this book is for you.

Obviously there are literally thousands of books out there and I can stake claim to owning hundreds so narrowing this list down was quite a challenge for me. These 5 books touch upon everything anyone would need to help them in life.
