5 Simple Habits for Stress-free Success which YOU Can Apply Today

Sharing is caring!

Most people don't believe that stress-free success is possible. They're so caught up in the "normal" way of doing things that they forget to think about the bigger picture"¦ about how they approach life.

When you zoom out and consult both old and new research on how the brain and body work, you understand why these 5 simple habits open the door to a whole new world. A world of endless possibilities, with no stress.

Review your personal roadmap at the start of every day

Where you put your attention is where you put your energy." (Joe Dispenza)

If life is a journey, then what is your destination? You must know your values, your grand vision, your long-term goals and your short-term goals. How else can you make decisions about what to spend your time on?

Here's what success experts such a Napoleon Hill and Bob Proctor suggest: do not let any external information into your awareness before you have visualized your personal roadmap.

When you boil it down to the core, there are only two ways to start your day. Either by preparing your mindset for building the life that you want, or by responding to requests from the people around you. When you're looking for long-term success, this shouldn't be a difficult choice.

Always empty your head by writing down what you must remember

Our brain is designed for having ideas, not for holding them." (David Allen)

The human brain has an enormous creative power, but this is only accessible when our head is empty. So you must always carry something to take notes with. And you must work with a waterproof system of lists, an agenda and information storage in order to retrieve that information when you need it later.

When do you have your best ideas? Probably in the shower, while traveling or while exercising. Because in these moments your brain is finally "free". Your subconscious mind has the capacity to make new connections and thereby create ideas on how to achieve your goals.

You amplify this superpower by always clearing your head. Don't use your valuable brain for mundane tasks such as remembering things. Just write it down.

Disable all push notifications

Rule your technology, don't let it rule you." (Franklin Covey)

When you apply the first two habits"¦ you have clear goals and you carefully manage your information. This enables you to make conscious decisions about what to spend your time on. As a result, here's what you'll achieve:

You will be spending every hour doing the most important thing you could be doing.

When you know that what you're doing is the most important thing you could be doing"¦ then why would you let random notifications interrupt your flow? The probability that any notification is more important than what you've decided to do in the moment is (very) close to zero.

So take your laptop and your smartphone and switch off all push notifications. As the manager of your own life, you decide when it's time to read your messages. Don't let your technology rule you.

Do not accept any stress in your life

Man's chief delusion is his conviction that there are causes other than his own state of consciousness." (Bob Proctor)

No stress"¦ sounds impossible? It's only impossible if you believe it is. In order to not experience stress in your life, you must simply DECIDE that to be stress-free is your number 1 priority.

Here's how it works"¦ You become aware of stress when you're aware of the red flags that it creates. Feeling tired, frustrated, angry or exhausted all count as red flags.

How do you use this information to stay stress-free? When you become aware of a negative emotion, a part of you remembers: "this is not good". Next, immediately stop what you're doing. Find relief (e.g. drink water, go for a walk, listen to music or talk to a friend), zoom out and make a new plan for your day so you can proceed as your best self.

The action point is this"¦ make a commitment to being stress-free. Right now. Write it on your personal roadmap so you remind yourself of it every day.

Zoom out at the end of every day and every week

A change in perspective is worth 80 IQ points" (Alan Kay)

Many people find it difficult to recover after a day of work. Thoughts keep running, the brain doesn't get quiet. Zooming out helps you prepare for recovery. It helps you clear your mind.

Here's how zooming out works: never finish a working day without planning your day for tomorrow. And never finish a workweek before you make a planning for next week and you update all elements in your information system.

You can implement this immediately by scheduling a daily reminder in your agenda. At the end of every working day, take 10 minutes to zoom out. And every Friday afternoon, spend 30 minutes planning and preparing for next week. Your brain will realize that everything's under control. Your mind will be able to relax and generate some genius ideas in the process.

Stress-free success is about a new mindset. The world is drowning in information. Today, it's all about recognizing what's important and how to apply it in your own life. The above 5 habits are the conclusion of many years of research and deliver enormously powerful results. So please comment: do you apply these lessons every day?
