8 Ways To Prevent Negative Energy From Taking Over You

Sharing is caring!

We are surrounded by it. It's everywhere. No matter where you go or how hard you try, you absolutely positively cannot avoid the negative energy that is being emitted from people you have to deal with on an daily basis. Your co-worker, your Aunt Gertrude, your neighbour, the grumpy cashier at the grocery store. Negative energy and toxic people are all around. Negative energy is any form of energy that isn't positive. Now I know that should go without saying but I'm talking about sad, agitated, angry, worrisome and all those other negative emotions.

First and foremost, you must always remember that your emotional state is number one priority. Your happiness is more important than anything and that's not being selfish, that's mandatory. Why would you want to be anything but happy? There are going to be times when you are happy and someone with negative toxic energy comes across your path and suddenly you find yourself getting sucked into their state. Here are some ways to avoid anyone's negative energy taking over your positive state.

Whatever it is they are going through, it is their problem, not yours. You can sympathetically listen to their story but don't forget, the issue doesn't belong to you. Safe guard your emotions while hearing them out. Tell them how sorry you are that they are going through this, give them a hug and send them some love.

2. Don't lower your energy to match theirs in order to play the sympathetic friend role.

Keep your energy high and this will also help them to turn their energy around into something more positive.   Remember you are strong and positive. Protect yourself from lowering your energy to their level.

3. You're not the judge and the jury.

Whatever they are going through stems from a result of their actions. It is not up to you to decide if they should be hung or saved. You need to stop thinking that you might be able to help. Most people have to help themselves first. Detach yourself from this belief.

4. Try to mind your own business.

Meaning don't get caught up in their drama. Drama only means negative shit and emotions and you aren't interested in any of that, right? Do not become involved directly or indirectly to other people's issues. You have a life of your own and your own stuff to deal with. Let them deal with theirs. Without your help.

5. Don't accept blame or responsibility for anything you didn't do.

Often we will take the brunt just to make the situation come to an end. No one likes to be involved in a dispute of any kind ever but if you are not the cause or source of the problem then don't assume blame like you are. Stand your ground and say no, this is not my fault. Don't be afraid to stand up for what is right. That's positive power in motion.

6. Learn to walk away.

Hard as this may be sometimes, there is a diplomatic way of excusing yourself from a conversation or someone. Learn how to do it. Your emotional state is always more important than being in the middle of a group conversation that is full of toxicity. Smile, nod, excuse yourself and walk away. It will be the best thing for you.

7. Don't worry about what others think or will say.

Who cares? If you choose to walk away from negative people that's your decision and you should not be judged for it. if you are, then you don't need these people in your life anyway. Stay away from people who will always judge you. actually, you should really just stay away from people who will talk bad about you or treat you bad too. Stay true to who you are and forget the haters.

8. Walk around with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

This happy energy will instantly be felt by the people around you. The more you do it, the happier you will be and the less likely you will be to pick up any negative energy around you. Just keep smiling. They'll get the hint eventually.

Simple enough ways to keep negative energy from taking over you but it will require practice. Anything good takes a bit of work and practice. Don't let your guard down and always maintain a positive attitude. This in itself will eventually become so strong that nothing will break it down.
