Songs that make my heart sing

I don't usually do tags but I thought this was a good one. It was started by Hilda Carroll a few weeks ago. Now Ed Mills from Evolving times has tagged me with this, thanks Ed you chose a good one. I have strayed a bit from the original idea of the meme as I could not think of 1 song that made my heart sing as music is so important to me. what i have done is extended the meme but still have chosen 1 song for the list that Hilda is compiling:

My Number 1 song to make my heart sing

Paddy Casey – Saints and sinners

music All my other music

Where the hell do I start. I love music but don't necessarily follow anyone religiously or any type of music. I am one of those people, when asked the questions "˜what kind of music are you into?' I usually say I like all different kinds, which is followed by the questioner giving a moan and a grunt, as they can't have a great debate about the genre they are into. I don't define myself by the music I follow but the music that followed me has defined me, to a degree.

Okay here goes:

When I am in the car and I need to rid myself of excess energy, I have made up my own compilation which I listen to very loudly and sing at the top of my voice, here are the artists and the singles:

The Who "“ Baba O'Riley
Paddy Casey "“ Saints and sinners
Tom Petty "“ Free fallin'

The Saw Doctors "“ Green and red of Mayo
Bob Marley "“ Redemption song
Deepest Blue "“ Give it away
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole – Somewhere Over the Rainbow
McFly "“ Obviously
Black Eyed Peas "“ Where is the love
Love inc "“ You're a superstar
Michelle McManus "“ All this time
ACDC "“ You shook me all night long
Simon & Garfunkel "“ Cecelia
Letter to Cleo "“ I want you to want me
Cheap Trick "“ Surrender
Wheatus "“ Teenage dirtbag

Now that's only part of what I love. I love anthems, songs that you can bellow out in the car. It's quite an eclectic mix up there.

Anytime albums

These are albums I can listen to anytime no matter what mood I am in:

James Taylor "“ Classic Songs
Del Amitri "“ Change EverythingStone Roses "“ Stone Roses
Joey Calderazo

Dance Music

I used to be a huge Dance Trance fan as well and I still listen to it sometimes as it can be very good for trance meditation. Some of the artists I loved in this genre were:

Chicane
ATB
Paul Oakenfold
Matt Darey
Agnelli & Nelson
Sasha

Songs that break my heart

Eric Clapton "“ Tears in Heaven
The Proclaimers "“ Sunshine on Leith (an old friend used to sing this every time he went out and he died in a car crash about 8 years ago).
OMD – Souvenir

Classical Music

I also love classical music, particularly Baroque style. Some of my favourites are:

Pachelbel "“ Canon – (My wife walked down the aisle whilst a harpist played this, absolutely beautiful both my wife and the music).

Albinoni "“ Adagio

Bach – Sheep may safely graze

Vivaldi "“ Guitar Concerto in D, 2nd Movement (Largo)

Instrumental music

I love and listen to A few instrumental composers constantly and they are:

Brain Eno "“ Music for Airports
Brian Eno "“ Appollo
Arvo Pärt "“ Spiegel im Speigel

I also bought every single one of Jean Michel Jarre's albums when I was younger as I thought he was one of the most innovative musicians in the world. I haven't listend to him in a while.

Okay I have to pass this on to a couple of other people to keep this meme going. I will pass this onto the following people:

Glenn Tan
Ponn Sabra Liz Strauss
Gleb Ryss
