We have three licensed engineers and LEED A.P. BD+C personnel on our staff with years of experience in the field on large construction sites and in our laboratory, which is accredited by AASHTO. We are a Small Business, as defined by SBA guidelines.
A History of Excellence
Our main office and laboratory are in Kailua, Oahu. We maintain full-time personnel on the Big Island and have worked on many projects on Maui, Kauai, and Molokai.
Our largest project to date is an ongoing 1,000-acre phased development on Oahu that has included single-family and multi-family housing, roads, bridges, infrastructure, a championship golf course, and a large marina.
We maintain a complete soil testing laboratory that is accredited by AMRL(AASHTO Applied Materials Research Laboratory), which has also certified our field density testing procedures.
Our laboratory is Validated by the Army Corps of Engineers.
We also are retained to investigate, evaluate, and provide remedial designs for many structures that have failed or are distressed from ground and foundation related causes. Founder and president
Kenneth F. Stewart, P.E., J.D., is frequently called upon to serve as an expert witness in failure cases.
Stewart Engineering, Inc. is familiar with the highly variable soils on all the Hawaiian Islands including the widespread presence of problematic expansive clays, and the many landslide-prone valleys on Oahu.
