Union County Collegehas launched an honors program to attract theCounty’s brightest studentsand give them the inside track toward transfer to the nation’s top universities.American Honorsis anational programthat provides high-achieving community college graduates with a pathway to complete their bachelor’s degree at some of the top four-year universities in the country. Union has begun enrolling students in the American Honors program, with the first cohort entering the College in the Fall of 2014. The American Honors program builds on Union’s rich heritage of preparing transfer-minded students for success. The College has a strong, talented and dedicated faculty that understands how to teach all students - from those who come to us academically unprepared for college to those who have excelled in high school. Union’s American Honors program will provide personalized advising for the highest-achieving students and will open doors to some of the nation’s best universities. Community college students who graduate as American Honors participants have been accepted to such prestigious universities as Stanford, Cornell, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Michigan, USC, and Purdue, and have received significant financial scholarships after transferring. Union County College is one of only two colleges in New Jersey to offer this program.
