In other results, Ironwood Ridge senior Brasen Brionesshot a 1-over-par 37 to help lead the Nighthawks (159) past Mica Mountain (167) and Sabino (183) at the Golf Club at Dove Mountain Wild Burro Course.

Mica Mountain sophomore Hudson Parkerwas one shot back at 38, Sabino junior Chase Pickeringwas third with a round of 39.

Cienega (155) beat Rincon/UHS (202) and Sahuaro (DNS) at the Forty Niner Country Club. Cienega junior Sam Nicholsshot an even 36. Cienega senior Bryce Colbyshot a 39 and Cienega seniors Preston Slaninaand David Davilaboth shot 40.

Named one of “Arizona’s Heart & Sol” by KOLD and Casino del Sol, Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the top high school reporter in 2014, he was awarded the Ray McNally Award in 2017 and a 2019 AZ Education News recognition. Andy was named an Honorary Flowing Wells Caballero in 2019, became a member of the Sunnyside Los Mezquites Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2021 and he was a member of the Amphi COVID-19 Blue Ribbon Committee.
