Experience artists from around the globe, catch your friends performing and watch great movies — you'll never spend more than $10 for a student ticket. Enjoy low or no cost opportunities to learn and create at the Woodworking Shop , Donald Claflin Jewelry Studio , or Ceramics Studio .
Ski at the Dartmouth Skiway at discounted student rates. Need equipment? Rent skis, boots, and poles at discounted rates for Dartmouth students. Hop on the free shuttle service to the mountain, and back to Campus.
Students can take advantage of all that the Alumni Gym has to offer at no cost. This includes the use of swimming pools, squash courts, basketball courts, and the Zimmerman Fitness Center. The Zimmerman Fitness Center is a 16,000 square foot facility that houses over 70 pieces of cardio equipment (many with their own TV's), 40 strength machines, 3 different dumbbell areas, a full free-weight area, and open spaces for functional fitness and stretching.
Outdoor Programs and the Dartmouth Outing Club sponsor numerous trips, trainings, and workshops throughout the year, so that every Dartmouth student can enjoy the woods, trails, mountains, and waterways that nestle campus and extend for many miles beyond. Thanks to support from the President's Office, aid that covers the expense of many of these programs is available to anyone who receives financial aid from the College. Need gear? Outdoor Programs offers a variety of outdoor equipment, such as backpacks, sleeping bags, hiking boots, snowshoes, and tents – all for free, to all undergraduate students. Rental information can be found here .
The Office of Physical Education & Recreation offers discounted PE course fees to students who receive financial aid. Students must apply for the discount through the Office of Physical Education & Recreation. High need students receive a 100% discount on the cost of a course. Students of medium and low need receive a 50% discount. A student’s level of need is determined by the Financial Aid Office and shared with the Office of Physical Educational & Recreation, who will notify students of their eligibility. In order to receive the discount, students must pass the course. If a student registers for a class and does not complete the course, they will be charged and held responsible for the full cost of the course.
