A great start to an even greater year

A great start to an even greater year

Our chapter has had a strong and enjoyable start to the 2011-12 year!  At the Student Involvement Fair, Andy and Leigh Ann spoke with a number of ’15s and ’14s about GlobeMed’s mission, our partner, and our plans for the year.  We collected about 135 names for our email list.  Our information session had an excellent turnout, with about 85 attending.  After the meeting, we sent out applications for e-board members in order to build a strong foundation right from the get-go.  There were many strong applicants, but in the end we brought together the following:

  • External Co-President: Andy Zureick ’13
  • Internal Co-President: Leigh Ann Humphries ’13
  • ghU Coordinators: Angela Gauthier ’13 and Nikki Sachdeva ’15
  • Campaign Coordinators: Adam Kraus ’14 and Melissa An ’14
  • GROW Coordinator: Nick Jensen ’15
  • Directors of Communications: Yesha Maniar ’14 and Zuo Ming Koh ’15
  • Directors of Community Building: Aditi Misra ’14 and Katelyn Wong ’15
  • Director of Finances: Sumayya Younus ’15
  • Director of Individual Giving: Neelima Panth ’14
We’re planning our first campaign at this week’s meeting and hoping to plan out our Razoo page to begin Individual Giving.  Our e-board is also looking at having a retreat mid-November, so we’ll definitely report back next month with pictures, stories, and progress!
On another note, after 3 of Andy’s Skype calls with Seng Mai, director of the Migrant Worker Program at KWAT, they finished the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), and it looks great! Dartmouth will be fundraising for KWAT to organize a reproductive health training course for 25 community health workers (15 from Burma and 10 from Thailand), and this is scheduled to take place in May 2012 in Mae Sai, Thailand.
