As a leading Washington DC area minimal invasive cosmetic surgery center, we continuously evaluate and update the technologies at our disposal to help our patients achieve their desired results. Often, patients are not ready for surgery, but are ready for results.
Ultherapy is a new type of non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process to lift, tone, and tighten loose skin. Currently, it has been FDA approved for use on the brow, neck, and under the chin. There are many other ares that can be treated as well, if found appropriate by MR Khalifeh, in an “off-label” use of the device.
Ultherapy uses the safe, time-tested energy of penetrating ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin—including some of the deeper layers that are typically addressed in a facelift but missed by the older surface laser or surface chemical peels. The effect of focused ultrasound energy on the growth of new collagen over time. This remodeling of tissues will lead to increased tightening and uplift. With Ultherapy, there’s little to no dowtime.
According to patient reports, there is some pain associated with ultherapy. This makes sense, since enough energy is being delivered to induce the body to start remodeling and repairing. The pain levels are tolerable by most patients and go away at the end of the procedure.
Ultherapy requires a single visit, lasting about two hours. You can return to work the next day. Most of the time, there are minimal to no external marks. The results will develop over the course of two-three months and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to six months, including lifting and tightening of the skin on the neck, under the chin, along the jawline, and on the brow. While ultrasound does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not yet ready for surgery.
Ultherapy costs are determined by the extent of treatment. The doctor will determine the number of “lines” needed for treatment, and we charge $3.00—4.00 a line. This translates into treatments starting at $1,200.00 for a three-four hundred line treatment. Is your aging too advanced for Ultherapy? We recommend you explore a facelift procedure.
