DePauw names new vice president for development and alumni engagement

Amy Kwas ‘93, a development leader at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, will join DePauw University on December 4 as its Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement.

Kwas has served as the Vice President of Development at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis for the past seven years. Previously, Kwas spent twelve years as the Executive Director of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapter. A DePauw University graduate, Kwas earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from DePauw and a master’s degree in Public Affairs, with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis. 

“With immense Tiger Pride and incredible enthusiasm about DePauw’s future, I look forward to leading its development and alumni engagement division”, Kwas said. “Dr. White’s leadership, an extraordinary cabinet, and the Bold and Gold strategic plan 2027 make this the perfect time to join this team and engage DePauw’s incredible alumni in strengthening the university’s future through philanthropy.”

President White communicated her excitement about Kwas’s appointment. 

“Amy’s deep development experience, particularly in Indianapolis, and her love for her alma mater make her the perfect leader for DePauw’s division of development and alumni engagement and I am delighted to welcome her back home to DePauw,” said President White 

Kwas joins campus in the midst of significant new initiatives, including the Bold and Gold 2027 strategic plan. She will be an integral part of the 2024 launch of the Creative School, a part of DePauw’s three-school model which includes the  School of Business and Leadership, launched this fall, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Kwas added, “I believe in the liberal arts education DePauw offers and the way the three school model centers the liberal arts and sciences in everything we do and reimagines the university in a way that enhances its long-standing strengths.”
