Happy moment...
Lunette (Lunette of Island Alpaca)
Lunette is a marvel! Fine lustrous crimp that is very dense and bright. She takes after he dam, with Blue Ribbons in hand and a Color Champion ! Lunette won "Produce of Dam" at the 2017 Big E Alpaca show with her two cria, Luciana and Leonardo !
The Alpaca Breeders Association has designated her EPD (Expected Progeny Differences) are in the top 25 %!
Lunette, showed and placed at the Big E Alpaca Show. With seven alpaca in her class, she took a first place, blue-ribbon win, and color champion for browns competing along side, over 20 alpaca in total. Even more impressive, once again Lunette, was awarded the blue in the "Bred and Owned" class a most competitive class of fifteen alpaca with m any white b lue-ribbon winners competing. Very impressive for a brown, Lunette is a very sweet girl who is extremely easy to handle. Fantastic on a halter and a pleasure to work with, walk with!
Lunette's first cria Larissa
i
s just as beautiful as she, and Lunette's amazing fleece qualities have been passed down to her gorgeous brown daughter. Larissa has amazing tight and bold crimped fleece that is very dense but also really fine. Her offspring have been some of our best of the herd.
Lunette is currently bred, confirmed by ultrasound. Her service sire is our Aga Khans, Khan D'Or.
We do expect a fabulous cria for mid-July, summer 2020.

Luna has beautifully dense fleece well-defined staple and a charming
discernible white-striped top-knot. This gorgeous gal is a beautifully
superlative manifestation of all that one would want in a female alpaca.
A blue ribbon winner
at her first show she elicited the following judges comments; "a
beautifully constructed female with great density for such a young
animal"..."her fiber has exceptional crimp and is consistent from tail
bone to head"..."the fiber is also soft and dense with a luster that
jumps out at you"..."her walk is elegant and her posture is very strong
and consistent with high value alpacas": clearly, Luna has it all, and
with a mellow, motherly disposition to boot!
She possesses all of
the fiber attributes one would expect from her famous sire, 4Peruvian
Altiplano, a well recognized champion who has produced an amazing number
of show winners, and whose offspring are highly sought after. His
reputation for consistently producing high quality offspring is
unmatched by most males. He has an amazing ability to pass on positive
traits in fleece and conformation with over 90% of his offspring (or
those with his lineage) placing first and second in tough local and
national competitions. His cria have shown instant improvement over
their dams. Even dams of the highest quality have crias that are a step
up with Altiplano Gold as their mate. All the right positives to the
right degree to produce the complete quality offspring. In density,
coverage, architecture, and crimp, fleeces are taken to the next level.
Body types are improved with heavier bone and greater "type" in style.
Luna's first cria is a lovely locked, dense female, the lovely Lunette
, a medium brown alpaca who was awarded a Champion and several blues.
Luna has proven to be an excellent mother, always pausing for her cria, incredibly attentive!

Each of Talon's first offspring took either a first place, B lue Ribbon and/or a Color Championship , to include September, 2010 at the Big E Alpaca Show. Lunette, (Seven alpaca in her class) took a first-place blue ribbon, and even more outstanding, a color champion banner for all browns with over twenty alpaca in total. Once again, Lunette took the blue in the "Bred and Owned" class, showing in a class of fifteen -up against the best of the best, including white blue ribbon winners! Very, very impressive for a brown! Talon's Purl , another offspring from 2009, took a blue, first place win, in her class of grey yearlings.
Kudo's to Talon-with award-winning fiber that is just outstanding - which we know now, he passes along to his offspring! It's incredibly dense, with amazing character and high-frequency, tight, even crimp (from skin to his tips), fineness and luster! Add to that an absolutely even in color, spot-free blanket. Talon is the picture-perfect grey.
Talon, at the Alpaca Festival of Oregon, 2010, took the Reserve Color Championship
for his fleece, with 16 alpaca in the competition, ten juvi's and
yearlings included. Talon was the oldest with the exception of one
competitor. Impressive for five years of age! Show results found here.
Amanda VandenBosch judging, gave him a 19 out of a 20 point score for fineness and handle, commenting "good evenness on fleece!"
An amazing win = amazing fleece = amazing herd sire!
