Paris Visite Pass & RER B

By | April 23, 2024 | in

Hi, I am rather confuse for the tickets. I will be arriving via train in Paris Gare de Lyon. If I purchase the tickets for Paris Visite Pass, do I need to purchase in advance or I can purchase it at Gare De Lyon Metro station? Also, does the pass come with RER passes if I only wish to purchase from Zone 1 -3? If it is not included, how can I purchase the additional RER passes to CDG airport?

Thank you!

You can buy the Paris Visite Pass when you arrive at Gare de Lyon train station, at the Metro or RER station ticket windows.  The 1-3 zone Paris Visite Pass covers both Paris Metro (entire system) and Paris RER (only zones 1-3, see the Paris Metro/RER Zone map ).  If you need coverage up to CDG airport, you would need the 1-5 zone Paris Visite pass but it may be cheaper for you to just buy a single-use Paris RER ticket to get from Paris to CDG if you are only making a one-way trip to fly out of Paris.  If you plan on making several trips from Paris city center to outlying areas in zones 4 & 5 (say Versailles, Disneyland , Fontainebleau, etc.) then a 1-5 zone Paris Visite would make sense for you.  Otherwise, I would recommend just buying a 1-3 zone Paris Visite Pass along with a single RER Ticket for Paris to CDG .  You can use the Paris CDG RER ticket any time in the future; it doesn't need to be used on the day of purchase.
