Primacare was set up by a group of health professional in 1998 in response to the increasing population growth in the greater Dublin area. Centres were set up in areas where there were no medical, dental or paramedical services. Each centre has proved to be an outstanding success to such an extent that there are now nine in operation and several more are planned for the near future.
Each centre is a new build with a modern purpose built fit out. They are staffed by male and female general practitioners, nurses, dentists, physiotherapists and various other paramedical staff. These professionals are supported by a dedicated reception and administration team. Primacare uses the latest information technology in order to provide an efficient and responsive service.

The Primacare Group are a group of Health Professionals who have come together to provide a range of medical, dental and paramedical services to areas of greater Dublin which do not have these facilities. It is a non profit making organisation which is run by the health professionals themselves.
Dr. James Lee (MB. BCh. BAO. MRCGP. MICGP. MBA) - Medical Director
Dr. Lee has extensive experience as a general practitioner in Ireland and in the United Kingdom. He also has been involved in management in both the United Kingdom and in Ireland and holds a MBA in health management from Imperial College in London. Dr. Lee is also involved in teaching and was formerly a GP tutor at the University of London. Recently he has been appointed as a GP trainer at his practice in Lucan. Dr. Lee acts as advisor in medical and management issues to the Primacare Group.
Dr. Ali Ibrahim ( BDS )- Dental Director
Dr. Ibrahim is a dental practitioner with international experience. He currently works in the Primacare dental surgery in Swords and in the Dublin Dental Hospital. He is involved in training dentists and nurses in both locations. He acts as an advisor to Primcare on all dental matters.
Mr. William Buckley (LLB) - Managing Director
Mr. Buckley is the managing director of the Primacare group. He has experience in banking, legal and retail management. He is responsible for the overall management of the group with particular emphasis on strategy, finance, human resources and information technology.
Ms. Maria Kavanagh - Assistant Manager
Maria Kavanagh is the longest serving dental nurse in the Primacare Group. She has learned all aspects of the role and risen to become the head administrator for all of the dental surgeries.
Each health professional in the Primacare group is an associate. This means that they work as independent practitioners but are provided with premises equipment and staff by Primacare Management Services.
