Welcome to the Town of Somerset's website. Somerset is a full-service suburban community in Bristol County situated in Southeastern Massachusetts. It is 20 miles southeast of Providence, Rhode Island, and 44 miles south of Boston. The town is located on the western shore of the Taunton River and Mount Hope Bay. Incorporated in 1790, the town has a rich and colorful heritage dating back to colonial days. Today, the town is governed by a three-member Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator, and traditional New England Open Town Meeting.

This site has been designed to provide information regarding the town, its municipal services, and events. If you are a town resident or visitor or if you are planning to relocate your home or business to Somerset, we hope that this site will provide you with information you will find helpful.

The website has been further designed as an informational guide to various departments and facilities within the town. Here, you can find information on recreational opportunities such as parks, beaches, and seasonal recreation programs. You may also find applications, brochures, forms, as well as news items, events, and a directory of town offices and elected officials.
