Annual Town Election Information

The Annual Town Election is held annually on the 2nd Monday of April. Nomination papers for offices up for election are available on the first business day after January 1st in the Office of the Town Clerk. Nomination papers must be returned to the Office of the Town Clerk no later than 35 days before the election at, 5 pm. Candidates must obtain 50 signatures of registered voters in the Town of Somerset to be eligible to appear on the ballot.

The last day to register to vote to be eligible to vote in the Annual Town Election is 10 days before the date of the Election. If you are already a registered voter, no further action is necessary. Absentee ballots are available for anyone who cannot make it to the polling location. Visit Absentee and Vote by Mail Information

Early Vote by Mail is now available for Local Elections unless the Board of Selectmen holds a public hearing to opt out of Early Vote by Mail. In order to vote early by mail for local elections, an application must be received in the Town Clerk's Office not later than 5 business days before the Election. Vote By Mail applications are available.

In-Person Early Voting may be available for local elections, by a vote of the Board of Selectmen at least 45 days prior to the date of the Election. Dates and times will be posted on the Election page by clicking on the blue bar to the left of this page for In-Person Early Voting options.

Precinct Information

Where Do I Vote?

The Town of Somerset is divided into 5 precincts in accordance with M.G.L. All Precincts will now be located at the Somerset Berkley Regional High School Student Dining Hall.

The voting area will remain divided into 5 precincts. All voters will still vote IN their respective precincts, with ALL precincts now located at the Somerset Berkley Regional High School. Parking is available for voters at the entrance to the Student Dining Hall. All voters must enter the voting area through the Student Dining Hall. The parking lot is located in the Southern parking lot Nearest Clifford M. Holland Road and the lot is located at the entrance to the Dining Hall. Handicap parking is available in that lot and an additional two temporary handicap parking spots will be provided on the access road nearest the doors on Election Day. The access road may also be used for drop off and pick up of voters.

Town Election Voting Hours Are Noon to 8 pm.
